Fiona McGaughey

Fiona is Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic Advancement and Diversity at the University of Western Australia and was previously an Associate Professor of international human rights law. Her research interests include modern slavery, international human rights law, and higher education.

Fiona worked in research and policy roles in the NGO sector in Ireland and Australia for over ten years, specialising in racial equality and disability rights. Prior to that, she worked in the private sector as a management consultant in Ireland, across Europe and in Australia. She has an LLB (Hons) in Common and Civil Law with French from the Queen's University of Belfast, a Masters in Human Rights from Curtin University, and a PhD from the University of Western Australia.
