Garry Pawitandra Poluan

Garry Pawitandra Poluan is a globally-experienced professional with a decade of experience in education’s various sub sectors. His work in the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Secretariat focuses on education innovation, including AI in education, 21st century learning, and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Prior to SEAMEO, he was Senior Project Officer for Research at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), where he was involved in diverse research projects, alongside the development of the research agenda and publication system. His teaching experience included lecturing in Paramadina University, where he was awarded Best Lecturer in 2014. He had also consulted for ADB and Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Among Garry's proudest achievements is becoming the founding team of AKAR, an Indonesian language course intended to retain the cultural roots of foreign-born/raised Indonesian children in New York.
