Geraldine Wallbank

Geraldine Wallbank is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, The University of Sydney and Sydney Local Health District, Sydney, Australia, and the Study Manager for the Active Women over 50: an effectiveness-implementation randomised controlled trial. Funded by the Medical Research Future Fund of Australia (MRFF), this large trial is testing the impact of a remotely delivered physical activity support program, recruiting 1,000 women aged 50+ across NSW, Australia. The trial builds on formative work achieved during Geraldine's PhD which focused on interventions to promote physical activity in the middle age years for healthy ageing.

Geraldine is the Senior Project Officer for the Physiotherapy Evidence Database, PEDro (pedro.org.au). Indexing 69,000+ quality-rated clinical trials, reviews and evidence-based practice guidelines evaluating the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions, PEDro is a leading global evidence resource used in 200+ countries and accessed every 5 seconds. Geraldine has contributed to research for improving physical activity and exercise among older people and has also worked clinically in adult rehabilitation as a senior Physiotherapist.
