Gernot Müller

I am a Professor of Economics at the University of Tübingen. I earned my doctorate from the European University Institute in Florence in 2005 and was a Professor of Economics in Bonn from 2008 to 2015. I have been a visiting researcher at the New York Fed and Columbia University and a consultant to the ECB.

My research combines empirical and theoretical approaches, focusing on international macroeconomics, particularly monetary and fiscal policy. I also examine the economic impacts of current events, such as Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine. I am an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Economics, a Research Associate of the CEPR, and a passionate marathon runner.
