Dr. Kaplan is an Associate Professor in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. Dr. Kaplan is a gastroenterologist and epidemiologist who has devoted his clinical and research career to study the burden of gastrointestinal diseases. He is a clinician-scientist and holds the Embedded Clinician Research Chair from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He is the Scientific Director of the Digestive Health Strategic Clinical Network at Alberta Health Services.
