Dr Giselle Newton (she/her) is a Research Fellow at The Centre for Digital Cultures and Societies, The University of Queensland. Giselle currently works on the Australian Ad Observatory Project of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society.
Giselle is a digital health sociologist whose research agenda focuses on people's experiences with digital, reproductive and genetic technologies. She has conducted research on donor-conceived people's use of digital technologies, direct-to-consumer genetic testing for people searching for information about family, and individuals' experiences with targeted advertising for reproductive technologies, treatments and products.
