Dr Harriet Bowyer is an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, working as a Lecturer in Applied Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). Before joining GCU, she trained and worked as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist within NHS Scotland, primarily in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. She also has a background in public health research, predominantly focusing on the acceptability of cancer prevention strategies (e.g. the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and the HPV Immunisation Programme). Her research interests include: parenting, attachment and child and adolescent mental health; improving access to mental and physical health interventions for hard to reach groups; and cognitive, emotional and behavioural responses to health risks.
