Helga van der Merwe

I completed my BSc, BSc(Hons) and MSc at the University of Pretoria in the early 1990s. Thereafter I was employed as a botanist in the conservation sector in the Northern Cape and later self-employed in the environmental field. After a brief pause (motherhood), my research continued in the Succulent Karoo which culminated in my PhD (2010) and expanded significantly after being employed at the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON) in 2014.
