Hossein Asgari studied physics before completing a PhD in Creative Writing at the J.M. Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice, University of Adelaide. His debut novel, Only Sound Remains, was shortlisted for both the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2024 and the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards 2024. His second novel, Desolation, was published in 2025 by Ultimo Press. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at UniSA Creative.
