Isabelle Doré

Isabelle Doré, PhD, is an epidemiologist, FRQ-S Junior 2 research scholar, and Associate Professor at the School of Kinesiology and Physical Activity Sciences and the School of Public Health at Université de Montréal. She is a researcher at the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal and the Institut du cancer de Montréal. Her research focuses on physical activity as a lever to promote mental and physical health across diverse populations, including youth transitioning to adulthood, people affected by cancer, immunosuppressed individuals, and caregivers. Her work is structured around two research axes: (1) co-creation, implementation, and evaluation of innovative physical activity programs for cancer prehabilitation and rehabilitation using pragmatic intervention studies; and (2) investigation of the contexts of physical activity practice (e.g., group-based settings, nature exposure) and the underlying mechanisms of action involved in improving mental health and preventing mental disorders, using data from longitudinal observational studies. She is the Scientific Director of Qualaxia, a francophone knowledge-sharing network in population mental health whose mission is to make evidence accessible to decision-makers, managers, health, social services, and public health professionals, as well as community practitioners.
