Jennifer Barfield

Jennifer Barfield is an assistant professor at Colorado State University with a background in animal science and conservation biology. Her lab currently researches comparative assisted reproductive technologies (ART) with a focus on large animals. She is the scientific leader for the Laramie Foothills Bison Conservation Herd, a herd for which ART was used to return bison with Yellowstone genetics to public open space in northern Colorado. She is also the co-director and creator of a one-year, non-thesis master’s program in ART, which trains future embryologists and reproductive professionals for careers in human infertility, animal reproduction, and conservation.
