Jessica Murray

Jessica Murray is a Lecturer in English and Literary Studies, and Gender Studies, at the University of Western Australia, where she also completed her PhD in 2022. Her research explores the word and idea of conscience in the nineteenth century at the intersections of literature, law, moral philosophy, and science. Jessica has a particular interest in the writings of George Eliot, and in nineteenth-century conceptions of language.

Jessica teaches courses on nineteenth-century literature, Jane Austen, and feminist and queer theory.
