Joana Castro Pereira

Joana Castro Pereira é doutora em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Professora de Política e Relações Internacionais na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. A sua investigação centra-se na política mundial multiespécie, nas transições sustentáveis e na governança ambiental global, com particular atenção à Amazônia. É autora de numerosos artigos publicados em revistas internacionais indexadas e de capítulos editados por casas acadêmicas de reconhecido prestígio, como a Oxford University Press e a Cambridge University Press. É também autora colaboradora da primeira avaliação científica internacional sobre governança do sistema terrestre, conduzida pelo International Panel on Earth System Governance (IPESG), e atualmente coedita o *Oxford Handbook of Planetary Politics*, em preparação.

Joana Castro Pereira is Professor of Politics and International Relations at the University of Porto and a researcher at the Institute of Sociology at the same institution. She is a Senior Research Fellow of the Earth System Governance network and a contributing author to the first international scientific assessment by the International Panel on Earth System Governance (IPESG). Her research focuses on more-than-human approaches to world politics. She co-edited Non-Human Nature in World Politics (Springer, 2020) and the special issue "Animals in International Relations" (International Relations, 2023), is co-editing the Oxford Handbook of Planetary Politics (Oxford University Press), and has written on multispecies justice for The Anthropocene Crisis (Cambridge University Press, forthcoming). Her publications also include Climate Change and Biodiversity Governance in the Amazon (Routledge, 2022), which was shortlisted for the British International Studies Association’s Susan Strange Prize.
