I gained my doctorate at Lancaster University with my dissertation 'Gothic Structure, Aesthetic, and Affect in Modern Musical Theatre'. My interests lie primarily in the Gothic, Romanticism, theatre history, contemporary theatre studies, the works of Victor Hugo, the works of the Brontës, and contemporary pop culture. I also research the history and reception of the musical genre.
