Jonny Quinlan

Dr Jonny Quinlan has over a decade of experience in applied muscle physiology and exercise interventions with a particular focus on age, ethnicity and chronic disease.

He has interests in muscle health within chronic inflammatory disease and works under the auspices of the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre. Furthermore, he leads on innovative projects at the University of Birmingham investigating the role of ethnicity in muscle and wider health to tackle the ever-growing health inequalities seen in the UK.

His experimental skillsets lie primarily in quantitative methodologies including metabolic phenotyping, muscle physiological health and a multitude of imaging modalities relevant to sarcopenia and frailty.
