Kaitlyn Hammond

Kaitlyn Hammond is a forest and landscape ecologist whose research examines how forest management influences forest fuels, fire hazard, and stand development. She earned her PhD from the University of Melbourne, where her work focused on fire impacts in temperate forests and how aligning silvicultural disturbances with natural disturbances can improve outcomes across multiple forest values. By integrating remote sensing technologies, including LiDAR, with field-based ecological monitoring and landscape modelling, she aims to inform silvicultural practices that support improved ecological outcomes.
