Karin Rosenkilde Laursen

As a researcher, I focus on indoor and ambient air pollution and its effects on human health. I hold a background in public health sciences. During my PhD, I investigated the impact of indoor air quality on acute health effects among individuals with respiratory diseases, with a particular focus on particle exposure from candles, cooking activities, and electronic cigarettes. In my current research, I study ambient air pollution and its associations with a range of health outcomes, as well as how the indoor climate in schools affects cognitive performance in children aged 9–12 years. My work combines controlled human exposure experiments, field studies, and registry-based epidemiological analyses.
