My research advances sustainability science at the intersection of ecohydrology, environmental policy, and sustainable food-water systems. I integrate data-driven and process-based approaches to understand how climate change, land use, and management decisions shape surface- and groundwater quality in human-dominated landscapes. In my work, I develop large-scale environmental datasets, novel tracers, and coupled modeling frameworks to quantify nutrient and contaminant fluxes across wetlands, watersheds, and regions, with the explicit goal of informing environmental governance and policy design. A core focus of my research is evaluating nature-based solutions, particularly wetlands, as policy-relevant strategies to improve water quality, mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance ecosystem resilience under a changing climate.
