Kia ora! I am an Ethnomusicologist from Waipapa Taumata Rau (University of Auckland), Aotearoa (New Zealand). I teach and research around popular musics looking especially its representation and empowerment for BIPOC and queer folx. I look at how gender, sexuality, indigeneity, race, and other positionalities engage with and enjoy musics such as hip hop, pop, country, and kpop. I have weekly radio gig Friday mornings at 95 bFM (Auckland) called "Travellin Tunes" and a monthly slot on RNZ National (New zealand).
