Kristine Deroover

Kristine holds an MSc in Rehabilitation Sciences from KU Leuven and an MSc in Health Education and Promotion from Maastricht University. With a diverse academic background and experience across disciplines, she is committed to advancing research that promotes health and well-being.

She completed her PhD at the Transdisciplinary School at the University of Technology Sydney, where her research brought together insights from public health nutrition, consumer behaviour, and the learning sciences. Her work focused on how individuals navigate conflicting health information, and the potential of educational approaches to support informed and sustainable decision-making.

Her research interests span health and information literacy, food and consumer behaviour, and the connections between health and environmentally sustainable practices. She is particularly interested in how people perceive knowledge—how beliefs about personal and scientific knowledge influence responses to information, for example in the context of health.
