Laura Nicole Rees-Davies

Dr. Laura Rees-Davies is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Psychology with 20 years of teaching experience in higher education. She holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of South Wales (2016), with her doctoral research focusing on anorexia nervosa, patient treatment, and healthcare professional awareness. She also gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Cardiff Metropolitan University (2006), where her undergraduate dissertation on teacher knowledge of pupil mental health problems was awarded second place at the British Psychological Society Annual Conference.

Professionally, Dr. Rees-Davies is a Fellow of Advance HE and a Registered Applied Psychology Practice Supervisor (RAPPS) with the British Psychological Society. She holds an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 7 qualification in Executive Coaching and Mentoring (2017), equipping her with advanced expertise in leadership, coaching, and mentoring practice.

Her career spans roles as Senior Lecturer in Coaching Psychology at the University of Worcester, Specialist Mental Health Mentor, and Associate Lecturer at the University of South Wales, before joining Cardiff Metropolitan University as Senior Lecturer in Psychology in 2021. She has also led external examiner roles and held national leadership positions, including serving as Chair of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Coaching Psychology (2018–2022).

Alongside her academic career, Dr. Rees-Davies is an experienced executive, leadership, educational, and personal coach, and founder of GlideForward, a consultancy specialising in workplace well-being, education, and leadership effectiveness.

Her expertise combines applied psychology, coaching, and research-informed practice, with a strong focus on intervention development, evaluation, and supporting outcomes.
