I am the Professor of Contemporary Irish History at Trinity College Dublin and Director of the TCD Centre for Modern and Contemporary Irish History. I have published extensively in modern and contemporary Irish history with a particular focus on gender, welfare and sexuality. My recent work has involved collaboration with NGOs exploring the long history of single-parent families.
