I research the 19th-century history of childhood and women writers through archival research and the application of digital tools. I have co-curated exhibitions with the Museum of Childhood in Edinburgh. I am an editor of the journal Jeunesse: Young People, Texts and Cultures, and am an Early Career Member of the Royal Historical Society.
