Lorelei Kelly

With a background in conflict resolution and peace building, I've led projects at both Stanford and Georgetown. At Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation, I worked with some of the leading lights in behavioral economics. After a decade convening a bipartisan study group on national security in the House and Senate, I spent time at New America's Open Technology Institute to inventory Congress' capacity challenges on complex global policy. This experience led me to create the modernizing Congress portfolio at Georgetown's Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation-where I joined the "Fix Congress" cohort and supported the Select Committee on Modernization in the House of Representatives. During that time, I wrote "how to" guides to explain modernization and new methods of engagement as Congress becomes increasingly digital. I have also worked in pro democracy movements overseas and published extensively. I recently founded GeoDES--Georgetown Democracy, Education + Service-- to continue the momentum of congressional reform at the McCourt School of Public Policy.
