Lydia Sánchez

Lydia Sánchez has a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Barcelona and both, a MA and a PhD degree in Philosophy from Stanford University (California, USA). Sánchez works as an associate professor in the Audiovisual Communication studies at University of Barcelona since 2010. She is the Vice Dean of research and general affairs at the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media at the University of Barcelona. She is the principal investigator of the consolidated research group Didactics of History, Geography and other Social Sciences–Communication, DHIGECS-COM, at University of Barcelona, a member of the consolidated teaching innovation group Communication and Audiovisual Media (in-COMAV), and member of the Research Center in Information, Communication and Culture (CRICC) of the University of Barcelona, where she coordinates a research line on Communication, Democracy and Cognition. Sánchez has participated in several research projects, been the main researcher in some of them (national and international). Her research has been recognized by AQU (Quality Agency of the University System of Catalonia) with three merits, evaluated according to six-year periods. The last one was granted in 2023. She has published more than 20 research papers, 15 book chapters, and she has been co-editor of 2 books. She has attended to different international and national congresses and conferences. She is vice-chair of the ECREA Philosophy of Communication section.
