Associate Professor Marc C-Scott is an accomplished academic, media educator, and media professional whose work spans screen media, digital culture, streaming, and contemporary communication industries. At Victoria University, Marc serves as the course chair for both the Bachelor of Screen Media and Bachelor of Animation and Visual Effects, where he has played a leading role in curriculum innovation and the transition to the VU Block Model®.

With extensive expertise across screen production, media industries, streaming culture, digital platforms, and emerging technologies, Marc’s work explores how shifts in technology, distribution, and audience behaviour are reshaping media production and consumption. His research and commentary frequently examine the evolving screen landscape, including the rise of streaming platforms, changes in audience engagement, the future of creative industries, and the impact of digital transformation on media practice and education.

Recognised for his articulate insights and forthright perspectives, Marc is a respected voice within media and communication circles, contributing to publications and participating in local and international television and radio interviews. His ability to bridge academic insight with industry relevance has positioned him as a commentator on contemporary media issues, particularly in relation to streaming, screen production, digital storytelling, and the future of media industries.

Alongside his work in media and screen education, Marc also contributes to the higher education sector through professional learning, curriculum innovation, and teaching practice. He is the co-course chair of the postgraduate courses in Block Teaching and chair of the working group for the VU Block Model® Professional Learning Program, supporting academic staff in the design and delivery of innovative learning experiences in higher education.

Through both his media and educational work, Marc continues to support the next generation of creative practitioners while contributing to broader conversations about the future of media, communication, and learning.
