Marcos del Pozo Banos

Marcos del Pozo Baños is a mental health data scientist. He has a PhD in Intelligent Systems and Numerical Application in Engineering by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). His PhD "My Mind, My Self, My Identity" won a Spanish National Award for Best Doctoral Thesis by the National Association of Telecommunication Engineers. At present, he is Senior Lecturer at Swansea University Medical School, where his work focusses on mental health and suicide research, particularly through the responsible use of artificial intelligence and routinely collected data. He is a member of the Steering Board for the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Research Institute at Swansea University, co-leads the FAIR Curated Data Core Activity at DATAMIND, and is involved in other large-scale projects such as UK's Mental Health Mission and the Wolfson Centre for Young People's Mental Health.
