Margarita Díaz-Andreu

Margarita Díaz-Andreu is a Spanish archaeologist and ICREA Research Professor of Archaeology at the Universitat de Barcelona, following an academic positions in Durham University (UK). Her research interests include prehistoric archaeology, rock art, and the archaeoacoustics of Western Europe. She also works on heritage, the history of archaeology, and the politics of identity in archaeology, including social engagement, nationalism and colonialism, ethnicity, and gender. Recent research projects include the ERC Artsoundscapes and the ArqueólogAs/Herstory projects. In 2021 she received the Menéndez Pidal Spanish National Award for the Humanities, and in 2022 the Neubergh Award (University of Gothenburg).
