Marie-Pier Vaillancourt-Morel

Clinical psychologist and Full Professor in the Department of psychology at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR). She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Université Laval (2016) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Université de Montréal. She leads an interdisciplinary research program focused on sexual health, examining how childhood maltreatment and contemporary social realities shape sexuality, and how this knowledge can be translated into clinical interventions and educational tools. Her research centers on two major themes: (1) the long-term impact of childhood maltreatment, including abuse and neglect and (2) the influence of digital environments, particularly pornography. Through this work, she contributes to the advancement of an emerging field at the intersection of sexology, couple psychology, and traumatology, with the ultimate goal of improving couples' sexual health and well-being.
