I hold a PhD in English with a focus in rhetoric and composition; I have presented at several conferences on the rhetoric of risk as it pertains to pregnancy and birth. I'm also a mother and a birth trauma and preeclampsia survivor, and have first hand experience with high risk pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
