Associate Professor Megan Smith is co-lead of the Cervical Cancer and HPV Stream at The Daffodil Centre, a joint venture between Cancer Council NSW and The University of Sydney. She is an epidemiologist and simulation modeller with a research focus on policy evaluations relating to cervical screening and HPV vaccination and has worked with policymakers in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the UK. She also has a research interest in how policy decisions translate into real change, including practical aspects of implementation and the impact in population subgroups. Megan is a member of the NCSP Guidelines Working Party, the NSW Cervical Screening Program Advisory Group and helped draft Australia’s national cervical cancer elimination strategy as chair of the Screening Sub-advisory Group.
