Michael Urban

I qualified as a paediatrician and then as a subspecialist medical geneticist at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. I am currently the head of the Clinical Unit of Medical Genetics and Genetic Counselling at Tygerberg Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Stellenbosch. I have research interests in fetal alcohol syndrome and other birth defects, and well as the application of genomic techniques to the diagnostic setting.
