Dr Armour is an Associate Professor in reproductive health, and Director of Research at NICM Health Research Institute at Western Sydney University. He received his PhD in 2016 and joined Western Sydney University in August 2016. Dr Armour has expertise and experience in developing randomised controlled trials, meta-analysis, surveys, focus groups and mixed methods designs. Dr Armours research funding in the past five years has totalled over $7.2 million AUD. He has published >120 peer-reviewed articles with most of these focusing on period pain, pelvic pain or endometriosis.

A/Prof Armour is heavily involved in the research and treatment of endometriosis, and he was the invited complementary medicine expert on the endometriosis expert working group (EEWG) for the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) that developed the first Australian guidelines for Endometriosis, released in January 2021. Mike is also a World Endometriosis Society Ambassador, Academic lead of the Menstrual Cycle Research Network (MCRN) at Western Sydney University and Chair of the Australasian Interdisciplinary Researchers in Endometriosis (AIRE).

A/Prof Armours work has won several awards including winning Western Sydney Universities Research Impact competition in 2018, being awarded Highly Commended for the Vice Chancellor's ECR award in 2020, and his leadership of the Menstruation Matters team that won the Dean's Award for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Research in 2021.
