Mooyoung Han

Mooyoung Han is a Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seoul National University and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Water Association (IWA). He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Han is the founder of Rain For All, a UN ECOSOC-registered NGO that promotes sustainable and decentralized water solutions in vulnerable communities.

He serves on the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO) Technical Advisory Group for Climate Change, Environment and Health (CEE). He is the original proponent of the Community-Based Rainwater for Drinking (CBRD) framework and has led the development of the Rain School Initiative across several countries in Asia. His expertise lies in climate adaptation, rainwater harvesting, and community resilience through water education and participatory systems. Han has led international projects in Cambodia, Myanmar, and the Philippines, and actively contributes to the UN Water Action Agenda.
