Muhammad Waqas Haider

Muhammad Waqas Haider is a a doctoral researcher in International Relations at Lancaster University and Research Fellow at the London Dialogue. He studies space security, coercive diplomacy escalation, deterrence and the changing character of conflict. He brings a rare combination of scholarship and practice: 17 years in air power and integrated air defence, including directing live air-defence operations and leading a national strategic research programme on future warfare. He has published 25+ peer-reviewed works on hybrid and grey zone warfare, cyber warfare, space security drones, precision strike, space and quantum technologies. A Chevening Scholar, he writes on how emerging technologies are reshaping the risk of war.
