Natalia Rodríguez Vicente

Dr Natalia Rodríguez-Vicente is a Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting studies at the Centre for Translation, Interpreting and Localisation Studies (CTILS) at the University of Leeds. Her research focuses on healthcare interpreting and language-based inequalities, with a growing interest in how these areas intersect with emerging technologies.

She completed her PhD at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, with a thesis on dialogue interpreting in Psychological Medicine. Following her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate on a project examining interpreter-mediated Mental Health Act assessments in England and Wales, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research - School for Social Care Research (NIHR SSCR). She has since served as principal investigator and co-investigator on projects funded by the British Academy, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the University Council for Languages (UCFL).
