Natalie Braber

Natalie is a sociolinguist and linguistics professor at Nottingham Trent University. Her research focuses on: accents and dialects, language and identity and 'Pit Talk' which is the language of miners in the East Midlands. Other ongoing research involves research on accents in the light of ear witness testimony and accent recognition.

Natalie's research has been funded by The Arts and Humanities Research Council, The Heritage Lottery Fund, The British Association for Applied Linguistics , the ESRC and The British Academy.
