Nicholas Grondin

Dr. Nicholas "Nick" Grondin is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at the University of Tampa. Dr. Grondin's expertise is focused on atmospheric hazards, especially hurricanes. His research focuses on analyzing characteristics of hurricane activity across space and time, including in the context of global climate change. He is particularly an expert on eastern and central Pacific hurricanes. In addition, Dr. Grondin has regional expertise in the weather and climate of Latin America and the southeastern United States.

He holds a B.S. degree in Meteorology from the University of South Alabama, a M.S. degree in Geography from Louisiana State University, and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Grondin has been interviewed by various sources, including BBC News and Fox Weather, about the science and impacts of both Pacific hurricanes and hurricanes impacting the state of Florida.
