Phil Feldman

I'm an Adjunct Research Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the AI/ML Futurist for ASRC Federal. I have contributed to projects involving the detection of online extremism and radicalization, the mapping of belief spaces, and the creation of tools for understanding online populations. My research has explored the use of AI in various applications, including the analysis of COVID-19 tweets and the potential Generative AI as a source for psychological and social manipulation.

I have written extensively on the use and misuse of AI. My book, “Stampede Theory: Human Nature, Technology, and Runaway Social Realities,” explores the complex interplay between human behavior, technology, and social dynamics. I have presented at numerous conferences on topics such as AI, ethics, and social media. I have also been featured in media outlets like New Scientist and Wall Street Journal.

I'm an avid cyclist who has explored three continents and ten countries on my bike, including an accidental ride across Luxembourg.
