Rachel Ong ViforJ

Rachel Ong ViforJ is John Curtin Distinguished Professor at the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Curtin University. Her research interests include intergenerational housing concerns, housing affordability dynamics, and the links between housing and non-shelter outcomes. She is currently undertaking research in three major areas – intergenerational housing wealth inequality, delivering housing solutions for an ageing population, and the links between precarious housing and wellbeing.

Rachel was a recipient of an ARC Future Fellowship, the Young Economist Award, Professor Mike Berry Award for Excellence in Housing Research, and AACSB Influential Leaders award. She has received research funding from the ARC, AHURI, industry and government organisations. She is a member of the CEDA Council on Economic Policy, Vice-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Network for Housing Research, and Managing Editor of Australian Economic Papers.
