Roy M. Farman

I am a specialist in 3D imaging and the digital characterization of biological structures, with expertise in micro-CT scanning, digital dissection, and the creation of detailed 3D visualizations. My research integrates morphological analysis with phylogenetic comparative methods to quantitatively assess anatomical variation and explore how phenotypes evolve through time.

My work focuses on fossil amphibians, particularly frogs from the World Heritage-listed Riversleigh site and the Early Eocene deposits of Murgon, Queensland. I also continue to investigate Triassic fossil traces from the Sydney Basin. I am passionate about natural history and dedicated to science communication and public outreach, aiming to make palaeontological research accessible and engaging across educational and community settings.

I am about to commence a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES), where I will expand my research to include salamanders and newts, furthering our understanding of amphibian evolution.
