Rusli Cahyadi

I hold a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from The University of Queensland, following undergraduate and master’s degrees in Anthropology. I am currently a senior researcher at the Research Center for Population, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia. With over 20 years of academic and professional experience, my work focuses on urban anthropology, social ecology, and environmental governance. I have led and contributed to research on climate adaptation, sanitation, and inclusive planning in urban and peripheral regions across Indonesia, including studies related to the development of the new capital city (IKN). I have collaborated with organizations such as SurfAid, UNDP, and ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute, and have published in outlets including IOP Conference Series, Springer, Fulcrum, and Inside Indonesia.
