Saeideh Hajighasemi

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Allergy Research Group at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Centre for Immunology and Infection Control (CIIC), working under the Discovery and Repository Pillar of the National Allergy Centre of Excellence (NACE). My current work leads the Researcher Attitudes to Data Sharing study, which aims to improve data-sharing practices in health research and provide evidence to inform the development of the NACE Allergy BioRepository (ALBI).

I completed my PhD in Immunology with the QUT Allergy Research Group in 2025, where I developed a novel pollen aerosolisation system to study how grass pollen interacts with the airway epithelium in people with allergic respiratory conditions. My research explored both the immune responses to grass pollen and its influence on innate antiviral defences.

I am a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA). I recently received an Allergy and Immunology Foundation of Australasia (AIFA) Viatris Early Career and New Researcher Grant to advance research into grass pollen allergy, focusing on how pollen affects the nasal epithelium in allergic individuals and contributing to improved prevention and management of allergic rhinitis, asthma, and thunderstorm asthma.
