Samuel Cairnduff

Dr Samuel Cairnduff is a lecturer in media and communications in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne, where he teaches across arts and cultural management, strategic communications and public relations. His research examines cultural leadership, organisational culture, institutional ethics and the role of cultural organisations in public life.

His PhD research into cultural leadership in Australian professional orchestras formed the basis of *Harmonising Cultural Leadership in Professional Orchestras* (Routledge, 2025). He is also the author of *The Art of Purposeful Engagement: Contemporary Arts Marketing, Communication and Audience Strategy* (Routledge, 2026).

Samuel is Principal Consultant at RESONATE // Cultural Leadership, host of the *Decoding Cultural Leadership* podcast and a regular presenter on ABC Classic. He also contributes commentary on arts, culture and cultural leadership to Australian media.
