Susan leads applied and interdisciplinary research about the impact of social inequalities on the lives of children and families and explores practice, service, and system changes to address disadvantage. She uses participatory and co-design methods with children, families and communities, along with with professionals and advocates who support them, to centre the wisdom and strengths of lived experience in policy and practice change. Susan is internationally recognised for her contribution to the field of parenting with intellectual disability.
