Tana Carson

Tana Bleser Carson has a PhD in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and a Master's in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida. She is also a licensed American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT), and Adapted Aquatics Instructor (AAI).

She is an Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department at Florida International University. Her current research in autism focuses on assessments and interventions for decreased sound tolerance and water safety. Specifically, she has several projects focused on developing assessments of swimming skills and water safety as well as methods for training healthcare professionals to engage in drowning prevention services for children with disabilities.
