Vanessa Farr

Vanessa is an experienced writer, researcher and lecturer with a focus on regeneration and resilience from a gender perspective. Her work on the women, peace and security agenda focuses on the intersectional gendered impacts of militarization and climate disruption. She was the first Senior Gender Advisor in the United Nations Development Programme, and has consulted, among others, with UN Women and UNICEF, the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office of the UK, Oxfam Novib and Oxfam Jerusalem, and Sweden’s We Effect. She is a Senior Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University’s Helena Kennedy School of International Justice and holds a PhD from the School of Women’s Studies at York University, Toronto, Canada.
