Wayne Muller

I completed a BA degree in Sociology and Development Studies, and both an Honours and Master’s degree in Journalism at Stellenbosch University. In 2018, I was awarded a PhD in Music from Stellenbosch University with a study about the reception history of opera in Cape Town, showing the trajectory of a distinctly South African operatic aesthetic. My research fields are opera in post-apartheid South Africa and blackness in opera.
