William Scarborough

William J. Scarborough, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of North Texas. His research focuses on culture and inequality across U.S. local labor markets. He has published in multiple journals including Social Science Research, Demography, Gender & Society, and the American Sociological Review. His book, Gendered Places, examines variation in local gender norms across the U.S. and their impact on individuals' lives and patterns of inequality.
