Jean-Tristan Brandenburg

Dr. Jean-Tristan Brandenburg is a geneticist and bioinformatician with a broad range of interests in molecular biosciences and human genomics. His research focuses on using bioinformatics to address genetic questions and analyze genetic data. Over the years, his work has spanned diverse areas, including the analysis of diversity and population genetics across species such as humans, and previously fungi and maize (corn), using various data types such as whole-genome sequencing and arrays. His research objectives include identifying genetic determinants of rare mutations, conducting epidemiological analyses of kidney disease in Africa, and studying genotype–phenotype associations using high-coverage data, with a particular focus on cardiovascular diseases and cancer genetics.
